# Task Log - Fix Tenant Selection and Docker Build

## Actions

- **WebUI Architecture**:
  - Created `lightrag_webui/src/features/TenantSelectionPage.tsx` for initial tenant selection.
  - Updated `lightrag_webui/src/App.tsx` to enforce tenant selection before loading the main app.
  - Refactored `lightrag_webui/src/components/TenantSelector.tsx` to support a "read-only" mode with a "Switch Tenant" button.
  - Updated `lightrag_webui/src/features/SiteHeader.tsx` to use the simplified tenant display.
  - Fixed `lightrag_webui/vite.config.ts` and `Dockerfile` to use standard `dist` output, resolving potential serving issues.

- **Docker Infrastructure**:
  - Updated `starter/docker-compose.yml` to explicitly use local image tags (`lightrag-api:local`, `lightrag-webui:local`) to prevent pulling stale images.
  - Updated `starter/test_multi_tenant.sh` to execute the initialization script *inside* the container, ensuring environment consistency.

## Decisions

- **Tenant Selection Flow**: Instead of a persistent dropdown in the header, users now select a tenant upon entry. This simplifies the UI and enforces a clear context. Switching tenants is still possible via the header but is an explicit action that returns to the selection page.
- **Build Process**: Switched WebUI build output to standard `dist` folder to avoid path confusion between host and container.

## Next Steps

1. **Rebuild and Run**:

   ```bash
   cd starter
   chmod +x test_multi_tenant.sh
   ./test_multi_tenant.sh
   ```

2. **Verify WebUI**:
   - Open `http://localhost:3000`.
   - You should see the "Welcome to LightRAG" tenant selection screen.
   - Select a tenant (e.g., "default" or one created by the test script).
   - Verify the dashboard loads.
   - Click the "Switch Tenant" icon in the header to return to the selection screen.

3. **Verify API**:
   - The test script verifies API isolation automatically.
   - Check `http://localhost:9621/docs` to confirm the old `GET /tenants/{id}` endpoints are gone (only `/tenants/me` and `/tenants` list should be visible).
